Is Distance Learning Right For You?

Introduction

The Active IQ Certificate in Exercise Referral is at level 3 on the Qualifications and Credit Framework.

Entry Requirements
Candidates must hold a Level 2 Fitness Instructor a in the context of Gym or Exercise to Music or Aqua.

Qualification Structure
This qualification comprises five mandatory units:
Unit 1 - Principles of Physical Activity and Exercise Referral
Unit 2 - Effective Exercise Programming for Clients with Medical Conditions
Unit 3 - Instructing Exercise with Referred Clients
Unit 4 - Professional Practice in Exercise Referral
Unit 5 - Anatomy and Physiology for Exercise and Health

Case Study*
Practical Observations

*The chosen client for the case study should have a minimum of TWO conditions that have been covered in the qualification;Cardiovascular disease: hypertension and hypercholesterolaemiaMetabolic/immunological: obesity, diabetes Type 1 and Type 2Musculoskeletal: osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, simple mechanical back pain, osteoporosis and joint replacementRespiratory: asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)Psychological/mental health: depression, anxiety and stress
