If you are able to manage your own time and workload then it is likely you will reap the many benefits of distance learning, these include: reduced course costs, a flexible workload that fits around your current commitments, individually paced learning, accelerated certification and accreditation. The Active IQ Diploma in Instructing Pilates Matwork is at level 3 on the Qualifications and Credit Framework. It also provides access onto The Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) at level 3 and is worth 20 REPs points.
Entry Requirements
There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification. Experience of Pilates classes is highly recommended.
Qualification Structure
Mandatory Units
Unit 1 - Anatomy and physiology for exercise and health
Unit 2 - Know how to support clients who take part in exercise and physical activity
Unit 3 - Health, safety and welfare in a fitness environment
Unit 4 - Principles of exercise, fitness and health
Unit 5 - Principles of Pilates Matwork
Unit 6 - Programming Pilates Matwok
Unit 7 - Instructing Pilates Matwork
If you already have a Level 2 Gym/ETM certificate, then you will be exempt from Units 4 and also possibly Units 2 and 3 depending on when you completed your Level 2 qualification.
If you have already completed and passed a recognised Level 3 Anatomy and Physiology/ Exercise and fitness Knowledge exam, you will be exempt from Unit 1.
Units 1, 2, 3 and 4 are studied via home study. Attendance to a practical weekend and assessment weekend are essential to achieve Units 5, 6 and 7.
