Course Introduction

The qualification is designed to train learners to a professionally competent level, enabling them to design an individualised programme for pre and post natal clients. It is at Level 3 on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) and is worth 20 REPs points.

Course Aim:
To train learners to a professionally competent level, enabling them to design an individualised programme for pre and post natal clients

Course Objectives:To develop an understanding of the physiological and biomechanical changes that take place during pregnancy To apply appropriate training approaches to plan and design programmes for pre and post natal clients

Entry Requirements
Candidates must hold a Level 2 certificate in Fitness Instructing as a minimum.

Qualification Structure
This qualification comprises two units;
Unit 1 – Physical activity and health considerations for the pre and post natal client
Unit 2 – Design and implement exercise programmes for the pre and post natal client
