This Level 3 Adapting Exercise for Antenatal and Postnatal Clients qualification recognises the skills, knowledge and competence required of an individual, in order to work in an unsupervised capacity, covering the considerations for safe and effective exercise as well as how to plan and adapt exercise programmes for antenatal and postnatal clients.

Course Information

Entry Requirement: A recognised Level 2 Gym, Exercise to Music, Aqua, or Level 3 Pilates.

Unit 1 - Considerations For Safe And Effective Exercise For Antenatal And Postnatal Clients - assessed via a multiple choice exam

Unit 2 - Programme Design For Antenatal And Postnatal Clients - assessed via completion of a worksheet and case study

COURSE AIMS

  • To develop an understanding of the underpinning biomechanical, physiological and anatomical changes that occur during and after pregnancy to enable learners to prescribe safe and effective exercise to antenatal and postnatal clients.

  • To develop knowledge of the necessary and advised nutritional changes for ensuring well-being during and after pregnancy.

  • To assess your knowledge and skills in planning and adapting exercise for ante natal and post natal clients.

  • To enable you to analyse information in order to plan exercise programmes for both ante natal and post natal clients.
